Microsoft Dynamics AX Functional Consultant

Locations: Cleveland/Columbus/Cincinnati, Ohio
Socius is actively seeking an experienced, client focused and results-driven Microsoft Dynamics AX Functional Consultant to successfully implement Microsoft Dynamics AX and other related products in mid-market sized Distribution and Manufacturing businesses.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site consulting services for implementation projects, including but not limited to:
- Implement Dynamics AX
- Understand, communicate, interpret, and document business processes and requirements
- Create and develop design specifications including gap/fit analysis documentation
- Configure Dynamics AX environment to meet client requirements
- Work with technical team to design, test, and implement customizations
- Provide end-user training and end-user support throughout the implementation
- Perform ongoing support services to existing clients as needed via email/phone support and on-site visits
- Develop and continually refine ERP implementation standards and tools/documents
- Utilize ERP implementation standards and tools/documents
- Participate in project quality assurance process as appropriate
- Provide sales support as needed
- Participate in user group meetings as a presenter/subject matter expert resource
- Perform mentoring and/or coaching to team members and share knowledge amongst all team members
- Communicate with technical services team to ensure a project’s technical requirements are met
Requirements:
- Strong ERP product knowledge (i.e. SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, Navision, BAAN, PeopleSoft) with implementation experience
- Minimum of 2 years of Dynamics AX implementations experience and participation in at least 1 full life cycle implementation or 5 years large scale ERP implementation experience (JD Edwards, SAP, Epicor 9, etc.)
- Ability to translate experience in distribution or manufacturing environments to creatively solve client business/application issues
- Experience with modeling business process and translating requirements into a business application
- Excellent presentation and communication skills targeted to effectively present information to C-level management, public groups, and/or board of directors
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to quality, self-motivation, and a desire to succeed
- Possess business consulting, project definition, estimating, sales, and strategic and tactical planning skills for engagements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, logistics management, computer science or information systems or equivalent
- Possess a professional presence suitable for direct client interaction by telephone or in-person
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Technologies (MS SQL Server, MS .NET, MS SharePoint, MS Business Intelligence) a plus
- Certification in Dynamics AX Financials, Trade and Logistics, or Production a plus
- Project Management and/or experience with best practice implementation methodologies a plus
- APICS/CPA/CPIM certification a plus
